A bit of knitting!

I've picked up my needles (5 of them!) to make a phone case for a friend for christmas. It's a free pattern off Ravelry. Here is how far i've got!

Gallery Etiquette

Project Space Leeds
October 2010
The question of layout and spacing is something that comes up daily in my work life and at university. This is the perfect example of what I feel is bad layout destroying a perfectly good few pictures. I'm sure there's a reason for this unusual layout, but when does concept become detrimental?

Finally

This has been on a bobbin for weeks, decided to split the bobbin and ply it together as I want to start a new project.

Chance

I went to an exhibiton at Project Space Leeds.

I also stumbled upon a Greenpeace protest of sorts..
I'm afraid their 'shocking' pictures didn't effect me, I found them rather beautiful.

My favourite sculpture. King and Queen by Henry Moore.
I didn't realise it'd been moved to Leeds, I last saw it at the Tate Britain and fell in love.

Technicalities

I've started this small notebook to record colour choices, blends and each yarn I make, along with colour ideas. I will make notes about what has worked, not worked, and could be improved upon.

Please excuse the bad scans!

Holiday

I'm off on a little overnight holiday to see the Blackpool illuminations. I'll be taking my camera, which i've ordered a new battery for. I hope it arrives in time.

I'm desperate to start drawing again. I just need some primary sources! Having wild ideas about black paper, chalk pastels and old books.

Rose garden, take two.

Plied with white sewing thread. Nowhere near as nice as the original, but it's growing on me.

I found these in my mums sewing box. They must be more than 10 years old now. I can even remember the school uniform shop we got them from in Leiston (my home town).

I really want to use them in my spinning, perhaps rivet the ends together to make a loop?

Rose Garden

Inspired by Colinette's Rose Garden colourway. The twist is unset, this is a colour reference.

Cirrus

This is the first hank of yarn I've spun and plied on my Ashford wheel that I consider saleable. More or less a constant Aran weight, the colour is subtle. Everything I had hoped for at the outset.
