This tracing of the L.A. River was translated directly onto the Fruitmarket Gallery wall using the 'pouncing' technique. The original tracing was traced onto what Calame called 'butchers paper' and holes were pricked through, coloured pounce was pushed through the holes and the paper removed. Working in this way has left a ghost of the original and the scale is considerable.

Exhibition - Re-Collect: Sculptural Responses to Ideas of Place within Collections

Huddersfield Art Gallery, above the town library, is currently host to a collection of mixed media sculpture. 

I was particularly attracted to Mariele Neudecker's work 'Stolen Sunsets, 1996'; the tank stands just at my eye level, perhaps slightly taller. Inside is a mix of salt, water, resin, fiber glass and dye. I can see craggy rocks, mountains, all cast in a bright blue light.

Several of Deborah Gardner's recent works are displayed, including 'Yorkshire monument, 2011'. 

I particularly like how the work is framed by the doorway, and admire the careful stacking of several flimsy items.  I'm certain there must be a reason for the low lighting, but I feel it detracts from the overall finish; I much prefer a strong light inside galleries.

The other work that stood out for me was Richard Wentworth's 'Toy, 1983'. A steel bucket, filled with steel, a tin can island carefully sunken flush with the top level, lid half rolled.

The question of layout and spacing is something that comes up daily in my work life and at university. This is the perfect example of what I feel is bad layout destroying a perfectly good few pictures. I'm sure there's a reason for this unusual layout, but when does concept become detrimental?

I went to an exhibiton at Project Space Leeds.

I also stumbled upon a Greenpeace protest of sorts..

I'm afraid their 'shocking' pictures didn't effect me, I found them rather beautiful.

My favourite sculpture. King and Queen by Henry Moore.

I didn't realise it'd been moved to Leeds, I last saw it at the Tate Britain and fell in love.
